A Look at Our Physicians

Dr. Maziar Rezvani grew up in Louisville, Kentucky where he obtained a bachelor of arts in biology with honors from the University of Louisville. He went on to attend Ross University School of Medicine where he received his medical degree. Dr. Rezvani performed his internship and internal medicine residency at The Jewish Hospital of Cincinnati. He has served as a relevance reviewer for the American Board of Internal Medicine. His initial interest in the field of allergy began during residency after a presentation at a national academy meeting. At the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Dr. Rezvani had his fellowship structured to blend both clinical and research responsibilities under the guidance of Doctors Jonathan, David and Leonard Bernstein. He orchestrated multiple on-going clinical trials during his fellowship evaluating emerging therapies for hereditary angioedema. His other research projects involved asthma and exposure to cleaning agents in the home and occupational mold exposure and neurotoxicity. Additionally, Dr. Rezvani has a number of publications and presentations in topics ranging from allergic and non-allergic rhinitis, olfaction and rhinitis subtypes, hereditary angioedema, anaphylaxis during immunotherapy, and environmental interventions at a pediatric daycare and its effects on asthma and rhinitis symptoms. During his clinical training, Dr. Rezvani spent one year at Cincinnati Children’s Immunodeficiency and Allergy clinics. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Allergy/Immunology.

Dr. Luqman Seidu completed his graduate and post-graduate training through the six-year medical school program of Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine in Youngstown, Ohio. He obtained a bachelor’s of science in combined sciences from Youngstown State University and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He then performed his internship and pediatric residency at Tod’s Children’s Hospital. At Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Dr. Seidu had his fellowship structured to include one year of clinical training; his second and third years were structured to include protected time for basic/molecular science research while continuing his clinical responsibilities. He also completed 1 year of cross-training in Allergy/Immunology at the University of Cincinnati. He started his fellowship with laboratory research training: he was the first fellow at Cincinnati Children’s to be trained under the T32 grant by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) titled “National Research Service Awards for Fellowship in Immunology and Allergy.” He has been first author or co-author on several basic/molecular science publications on immune regulation in the intestine, inflammatory bowel disease, and clinical allergy. He has participated as an investigator on several clinical research studies dealing mostly with anti-IL-5 and monoclonal antibodies in the treatment of eosinophilic esophagitis and other eosinophilic disorders. His basic science research mentors were Marc Rothenberg, M.D., Ph.D. and Simon Hogan, Ph.D. His clinical mentor was Amal Assa’ad, M.D. He is board certified in Pediatrics as well as Allergy/Immunology.
